Tim's Testimony
Tim was born on July 22, 1958 in Springfield, Missouri to Bill & Faye Whitfield. Growing up in a Christian home (and a pastor's home at that - Tim's father is also a Baptist preacher) he spent almost as much time at church as he did at home! He heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ many times during his childhood and believed what he was taught, but didn't get saved until he was 15 years old when he realised that he was not going to heaven just because his dad was a preacher. Tim received Christ as his personal Savior on August 11, 1973 and followed the Lord in believer's baptism the very next day at the Bible Baptist Church in Quincy, Illinois. After his salvation Tim had a desire to serve the Lord in any capacity, regardless of whatever future oocupation he might enter. Upon his High School graduation in May of 1975, two weeks later he enrolled in summer school at Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. He was called to preach that very summer and continued his studies, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Theology (Missions Major) in May, 1979. Tim has served as an assistant pastor for 3 years, pastored 3 different church in Missouri and Arkansas for a total of 9 years, and has now been a church planting missionary in East Africa for more than 17 years.
Kim's Testimony
Kim was born in Monroe City, Missouri on October 5, 1956. Although she was not raised in a Christian home, Kim had a godly grandmother who was instumental in her attending church. She grew up in church and attended all the activities. She had even made a public profession of faith and been baptized before the age of 10. She served as a bus captain and was faithful throughout her teenage years. Kim later met and married the preacher's kid and was active in Christian service for several years before finally realising that all of her service and love for the things of God was not giving her peace. She received Christ on June 30, 2002 and was baptized by her husband the same day!
Tim & Kim were married on May 21, 1977 and have served the Lord together for all of their married life. They have four grown children (Jason, Justin, Kristi, & Katie) and seven grandchildren.
