Tabora Bible Institute

"Training Church Workers in the Work of the Church"

The Tabora Bible Institute was started in 2006 as a ministry of the Tabora Baptist Temple in order to train church members who had a desire to learn more about serving the Lord through their local church.  It began as a weekly class which met on Saturday afternoon.  As of January 2008, the format was changed so that the school is held each month for 3 full days (minimum of 18 classroom hours).  Each month there are anywhere from 6 to 12 men attending the Institute.

A single subject is taught each month.  This change was implimented in order for men to attend from the mission work in Ng'uruka, as well as the villages Bibles Studies.  On the first Monday of the month men travel to Tabora to attend school.  There is an orientation held late in the afternoon and test for the previous month's class is taken.  The new class begins at 8 AM on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  There are two sessions before lunch each day, and one additional session in the afternoon.  Friday morning is cleanup & the men then travel back to their homes.

Future plans include IBURA Bible College for those who are called to preach. (See separate page listed in the menu.)

Once the college is opened, the Bible Institute will continue to serve a basic need within the local church, and the format will be changed to an English Video Class which will meet for 3 hours one night a week.  It will cover the entire Bible in 3 years.
