Tabora Baptist Temple
An Independent Baptist Church
This is the main work that was started by the Whitfields when they first arrived and settled in Tabora. The first service was held on November 7, 2004 with 18 people attending. During the first 3 1/2 years of its' existence the church has met in three different locations. They have had over 700 people saved and baptized 89 to date.

At present, they are praying about a specific property on which to build a church building as well as a Christian school. They are in talks with local government officials about the property and are moving forward with plans to open a nursery school in January, 2009.

In addition to the main church in Tabora town, they also have a mission work in Ng'uruka, which is about 4 hours west of Tabora in Kigoma Region. Then there are weekly Bibles Studies conducted by Bro. Tim (with assistance of students in the Bible Institute) in three other villages (Mambali, Ndala, and Ndevelwa) within an hours' drive of Tabora. They also have an outreach in a local high school where they teach the religion class each Wednesday afternoon.
